Inspired by a real eyewitness account from Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge on the edge of Lake Texoma. Two friends sitting at a picnic table watched three brownish, hair-covered figures emerge from the trees along the shoreline, upright and unmistakable, close enough to leave no doubt about what they'd seen.
The area's strange encounters didn't end there — a low, throaty roar unlike any known predator, and a chained pit bull later found torn loose and mutilated, with almost no blood at the scene. Grayson County's Lake Texoma shoreline holds more than fishing spots and refuge trails.
